YAMATJI NATION ILUA

The Yamatji Nation Indigenous Land Use Agreement (ILUA) between the State Government and the Yamatji Nation Native Title Holders, resolves the State Government’s native title compensation liability in relation to 48,000 square kilometers of land in the State’s Mid-West region.

The Agreement recognises the Yamatji Nation’s traditional connection to the land and waters in the Agreement area and the native title rights and interests which exist within the agreement area.

The Yamatji Nation is rich in water resources, both rivers and water courses, the deep underground aquifers and extensive coastal access to the marine environment for desalination of seawater.
